“This fellowship is a transformative journey of self-awakening that builds our character, values, and self-awareness.” George Quartey · Ghana The Legacy Leadership fellowship will bring out the best in you for service and impact. I realised that leadership is not about controlling people. It’s about being intentional to allow formation to take place for service and to impact generations.
Before, I drive conversations by presenting solutions upfront. But through the Fellowship, I learnt the value of asking impactful questions. These questions invite reflection, ownership, and creativity.
I would tell anyone who wants to join the programme that if they want to build real, lasting institutions in Africa, they need to join. This program does not just teach how to rise to a higher position. Instead, it prepares you to survive your success without losing your values and morals when you arrive in a position of power.

“This fellowship is a transformative journey of self-awakening that builds our character, values, and self-awareness.” Hanitra Rakotojaona · Executive Director, GERP NGO · Madagascar Since joining the fellowship, my biggest shift has been realizing that true leadership starts from within, moving me from a manager who pushes for quick results to a leader focused on deep character.
I now understand that to build resilient institutions, I must first slow down, listen to my team, and ensure every organisational change is deeply rooted in our shared values.
I have built a habit of maintaining a leadership reflection journal to stay accountable. I used the journal to look back at my decisions and honestly ask myself if I used my position to force things through or if I truly listened to my team.
